A live concert “Onyo Agomoni” was organised today by ‘Kolkatar Ganwala’, a fusion band. Dignitaries like Swami Suparnananda Maharaj, Secretary, the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Kolkata, Smt. Papiya Adhikari, Actress, Shri Debasish Kumar, MMIC, Kolkata, Shri Tamal Kanti Mukherjee, Senior Advocate, Ex-President, Calcutta Club, Shri Raja Chakraborty, Assistant Professor, Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute & Father Rodney Borneo, Principal, Loyola High School, Kolkata were present to grace the occassion.
“Onyo Agomoni” is the joy of expected end of pandemic era and start of a new journey. The concert also pays a musical homage to late Smt. Mahuya Lahiri, Founder, Asha Audio Company.
With news of devastation and despair kicking in every season, 2020 has completely changed the scenario of the world that we have known for all these years although this has made us stronger and taught us to treasure the little joys of life. Through "Onyo Agomoni - the Musical" we celebrate the reincarnation of hope. "Kolkatar Gaanwala- the concept fusion band, has always experimented with new ideas or soundscape. This magnum opus will literally converge musical borderlines with other form of performing arts also," says Dr. Shibaprasad Bhowmik, the creative director of OnyoAgomoni and Nationally acclaimed band "Kolkatar Gaanwala".
'The concept of this musical has enthralled me with the effortless blending of music, poetry and theatre that I am highly excited to perform on that evening' says Mr. Nasir Uddin Ahmed, the organizer and producer of the evening who would also read his own selected writings to complement the musical journey.
An amalgamation of music and poetry, this show also features renowned theatre group Santoshpur Anuchintan in a pivotal role.
