4th Edition of Bajaj Electricals Pinkathon Kolkata 2020 presented by COLORS to be held on Sunday, 5th April, 2020 at Ranger’s Club Ground, Kolkata

An initiative by the United Sisters Foundation and promoted by Maximus MICE & Media Solutions Pvt. Ltd., India’s biggest women’s run to have 5000 plus women participating in the multi-category run

Kolkata. The 4th edition of Bajaj Electricals Pinkathon Kolkata 2020 presented by COLORS was announced today in Kolkata by Super model, Actor, Ultraman and Pinkathon founder Milind Soman formally at a press conference hosted by Hyatt Regency Kolkata, Salt Lake City.

The 54th Pinkathon will be held on Sunday, 5th April 2020 at Ranger’s Club Ground, Kolkata. Pinkathon is India's biggest women’s run to encourage and promote fitness and health among women and create awareness for Breast Cancer and other issues relating to women’s health. It is unique by being inclusive and diverse thereby breaking stereotypes of mental and physical limitations. Over 275,000 women have ran so far in the last 8 years across multiple cities. Present at the conference were eminent dignitaries like Dr Tanweer Shahid from Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals along with four mascots – Rinku Das an Acid Survivourfor Volini 10 km run category, Harsha Banthia a Baby Wearing Motherfor the 21 km run, 77 years old Lily Khan for VWash Plus 3 km race category and Dipali Singh a visually impaired runner andSonia Mahajan a cancer conqueror for5 km.

We wanted to understand what was stopping women from participating, and the responses helped create many new and exciting experiences, India's first saree run and cycle rally, the first women only half marathon, the first visually impaired women’s squad, the treks for cancer survivors and the baby wearing walks. The participants have transformed the run into a community and a social movement with thousands of women inspiring each other by example. Nobody is left behind. Not the very young or even the very old, not pregnant women, not the women in hijabs and sarees, not the women with young babies, not the visually impaired or the cancer survivors. They all came together making each edition in every city a festival like no other. Dancing and singing, walking and running, cheering and laughing in a fantastic celebration of womanhood. The run has 50 plus hearing-impaired girls for VWash Plus 3 km category and more than 50 visually impaired girls participating in different run categories. To prepare them for the main day, unique training sessions are being designed with the help and coordination of sighted runners. Special trainings for the main day will be organized in Kolkata for the registered participants who have requested training.

As a precursor to the main day, Pinkathon team will be organising unique events such as the Cancer Shero Trek for the cancer conquerors, 5 km Midnight Reclaim The Night.. Run!, Baby Wearing Walk and Zumba for girls with Hearing Impairment. As one-of-a-kind initiative, every single participant of Pinkathon Kolkata 2020 can choose to avail a free health check-up from our Medical partner Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals or a free Mammogram if the participant is above 45 yrs of age, the same is also transferrable.
