Kolkata. India’s most coveted fashion platform, Lakmé Fashion Week, successfully concluded the nation’s biggest model hunt – Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019 Model Auditions in Bengaluru, Jaipur and Guwahati this month. An eminent panel of experts chose two winners in each of the three cities - Akshara Balakrishna and Kirandeep Chahal from Bangalore, Gunjan Raghav and Akanksha Maurya from Jaipur, Suni Singha and Naina Shaikh from Guwahati. The selected winners will walk the ramp this Winter/Festive season.

For the first time ever, the participating models competed for the opportunity to feature in Lakmé’s digital content. Kirandeep Chahal – a student from Ludhiana who is also one of the winners from the Bangalore model auditions has been chosen as the winner from among 200+ participants across the three cities. The aspirants also competed for the chance to bag a contract with IMG Models, international leader in talent discovery and model management. Avanti Nagrath was chosen as the winner of the one-year IMG Models global contract.

Ashwath Swaminathan, Head of Innovations at Lakmé said, “Every city showed us their best talent at the auditions. And we now have fresh new talent to sport the latest trends on the runway. And we are happy that one of them has got the opportunity to feature in Lakmé’s digital content. Wishing all the winners the best as they get ready for the upcoming season of Lakmé fashion Week.”

LFW is credited with introducing some of India’s most successful models, including Deepika Padukone, Malaika Arora, and Diana Penty to name a few.

Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019 is scheduled to take place from 21st to 25th August 2019 at St. Regis, Mumbai.
